Oh, guys. This hasn’t been my week. After a few months of top-quality chronic UTI management, I’ve been hit with a serious infection and am now taking strong antibiotics four times a day. And, for the first time ever – I think because of the strength of the pills – I have not been reacting well to them and have spent much of the week feeling extremely nauseous. Not ideal.
Oh yeah, and I’m PMSing. So it’s all a good time over here in my house.
I’ve done quite a lot of sleeping this week and also had a lot to do at work, which has compounded the tiredness. It has also meant that I didn’t take a lot of photos.
We did spend the evening out of the house on Friday and I made Jake model for me all over Covent Garden, which he enjoyed (hahaha. HA). I was mildly freaking out about having no photos and Jake was wearing a nice shirt and jacket so I had to exploit that for this blog. He feels deeply uncomfortable posing in front of the camera (as do most of us), especially when people are around, but he likes the photos and he likes making me happy, so we end up taking a lot of pictures. Thanks J.
Apologies if you have no interest in seeing pictures of my boyfriend, because that’s what you’re getting this week.
We also finally went to the astrophotography exhibition at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, which was amazing. Jake knows a lot about astronomy and used to be really into astrophotography, so it’s something we’ve talked about a lot as I’ve become more and more obsessed with my camera. We took a few starry pictures last year and want to take more this year, but, for the most part, we’re in London where severe light pollution drowns out all but a couple of stars. We have a few trips coming up later in the year (exciting!) that will involve getting out of cities – like, really out of cities – so hopefully we can practise then.
It was a miracle that we made it at all, given the huge grump I was in. This was me, arriving at Greenwich:
What a vision, right? Onto this week’s photos…
