It’s interesting to look back, months after the fact, and see which images and words I chose to share about a place. I was looking through my Seychelles photos and realised that I’d shared a pitiful number of them, with most of them only there to accompany blogs about the islands we visited or the overall nature of paradise.
Don’t get me wrong, words matter too. This is a blog, not an Instagram page (though I do have one of those – come and say hi!). Sometimes the words dictate the photos but, sometimes, the photos dictate the words and that’s fine too. This is one of those times.
Here are ninety-seven photos from the Seychelles, in chronological order. This is the fullest picture I can provide of what these islands were like.
Day 1 – Mahé to La Digue, straight from the plane, ending the day on Anse Source D’Argent
Day 2 – Looking around La Digue, snorkelling on Anse Severe, a striking sunset
Day 3 – A jungle hike through Grand Anse, Anse Coco and Anse Source D’Argent, finishing with a gorgeous, bold sunset and an amazing sky full of stars
Day 4 – Leaving La Digue, heading to Praslin, checking out Anse Lazio
Day 5 – Anse La Blage and the Vallée de Mai National Park
Day 6 – Diving off the coast of Anse Volbert, Praslin
Day 7 – Back to Mahé, rounding off a magical trip with an evening on Beau Vallon beach
Day 8 – One last walk on the island before flying home
The Seychelles are astonishing. I hope these photos show even a little bit of that.
